About

As a painter, I tend to work fast using bold colors and strong shapes. My pieces are abstractions of moments in time—and illustrate a particular place and memory.

I prefer to apply paint using palette knives, scraping the paint off and reapplying to the canvas or paper. Water is heavily used in my pieces-either to dilute paint or flood the canvas with color.

As a surface pattern designer, I either hand-draw patterns or photograph and modify detail sections from my paintings, putting them into a repeat. I like finding the edge between painterly and digital patterns; giving my designs an organic but crisp feel.
